Dropping Beats and Bass Bombs: IndiEarth At The Park
With two musical heavyweights in the sonic ring this Saturday, November 1st – nothing less than a smasher of a night is to be expected. This weekend at IndiEarth at the Park, Thermal And A Quarter get ready to drop some beats, Bay Beat Collective get ready to drop some bass, and Chennai should be getting ready to party like it’s your birthday.
In their eighteen years of making music together, Bangalore based legends Thermal And A Quarter have been pushing the boundaries of independent music in the country. With four studio albums to their name, and a truly unique sound that provides a space where rock/blues/funk/jazz and Indian classical music can come together, and get along rather nicely – the act is something that must be experienced live. The band – consisting of Bruce Lee Mani on guitar and vocals, Rajeev Rajagopal on drums and Leslie Charles on bass and backing vocals – will take to the lobby stage at The Park Chennai at 9 pm.
When dusk turns to dark the BBC boys come out to play – dropping bass bombs so heavy the Leather Bar may just implode (but not to worry – we’ll be there to pick up the pieces). After forming in Mumbai in 2008, BBC – consisting of Kris Correya and Sohail Arora – have been pushing a potent elixir of DnB/Dub/bass heavy sounds across Asia, and through their tours around Europe. They will take over the dance floor at the Leather Bar at 10:30pm.
So be there Chennai, to witness a night that will be remembered for a long time to come.
