EarthSync Brings India Focus to IOMMA 2013

EarthSync is leading a 14-member delegation to the Indian Ocean Music Market (IOMMA) in Reunion Island 4th  – 6th June 2013, to open windows in the region for India’s artists and industry businesses.

EarthSync is in a partnership with IOMMA together with 6 other countries in the Indian Ocean Region, a programme supported by the European Union.

The 3rd edition of The Indian Ocean Music Market (IOMMA) takes place in Reunion Island 4th – 6th June 2013, to renew and forge partnerships amongst non-mainstream music industry players within the region. With international artist showcases and a host of partnership opportunities, the event provides exposure to artists, brings music experts, entrepreneurs and organizations to tap into new markets, develops a network between artists and professionals in the non-mainstream music industry in the region – and beyond.

The aim of the India Focus sessions is to create opportunities, share information and perspectives in the broader context, and develop international business.

The Indian delegates participating at IOMMA are Heena Patel – Rhythm Riders/ Artist; Divyang Vakil – Artist/Educator; Shyam Rao – Sam/Artist; Anirban Chakraborty – India Music Week/ RSJ; Laiq Qureshi – Urban Beat Project/ In Room Records; Kaushik Dutta – Kolkata International Music Festival; Diyva Bhatia – Jodhpur Riff; Emmanuelle De Decker – Gatecrash; and media persons Mandovi Menon, Mana Dhanraj and Madanmohan Rao – Media/ Techsparks. EarthSync, represented by Yotam Agam, Yoav Rosenthal and Sonya Mazumdar lead the delegation.

Following the 3 day-IOMMA, the Sakifo Musik Festival (7th – 9th June 2013) features some of the best of folk, traditional and contemporary musicians from the Indian Ocean region as well as Europe, USA and Asia.

IndiEarth artist Teddy Boy Kill – the electronica duo Samrat Bee (Audio Pervert) and Ashhar Farooqui (Toymob) – is India’s showcase artist with 3 performances at both events: 4th June at IOMMA, and 6th & 7th June at Sakifo Musik Festival.
