IndiEarth At The Park: It’s Raining Music!
April showers – it’s raining music! IndiEarth’s monthly independent music gig series – IndiEarth At The Park – is back this April at The Park Chennai, showering the city with some of the country’s most exciting independent artistes. With the purpose of providing stage space for a wide spectrum of independent sounds, genres, and musical approaches, this month’s edition will see bass music meeting jazz piano motifs with a touch of live electronica – this month brings you DJ Su Real and the collaborative project of Nicholson x Fuzzy Logic.
Singer/songwriter Nicholson is a jazz pianist whose compositions are sparse and lyrical, with colourful electronic embellishments. He writes about real life situations and circumstances through which he sees deeper truths that resonate with all of humanity – but is often hesitant to speak about who these sonic stories are actually about. Fuzzy Logic aka Arfaaz Kagalwala “began his musical adventure when a tremendous fall, (cushioned only by the thick tuft of fuzz on his head) rewired his neuro impulses causing an undying love for music and a unique approach to sound”. He blends quirky samples and familiar noise into a genre-defying act that aims to take a more personal approach to electronic music. The two artists’ new collaborative project – Nicholson x Fuzzy Logic – brings together their two diverse and unique approaches to sound, to create a seamless sonic whole. They will play at Aqua, on the rooftop of The Park at 8:30pm.
Su Real’s sound swings from all things heavy and bass to Trap, Moombahton, and Kuduro, blending these vibes with hip-hop, dancehall, house, disco, soul, funk, and R&B. After spending extensive time in New York and Montreal, he returned to India in 2008 to continue pushing these sounds. He will play at the Leather Bar at The Park from 11pm onwards.
