About Nada Brahma:
Launched in 2010 out of a new year’s resolution, NADA BRAHMA is a UK based online magazine and music portal devoted to reporting the latest music news and commentary and album reviews, articles, and event listings.
Our focus is on the underground and independent music scene. The range of musical genres covered extends to some of most pioneering Asiatic/Global electronica, jazz, Indian classical and experimental music from India, UK, USA and everything in between.
We are committed to promoting both emerging producers / DJs / artists and the internationally recognised. Our aim is to support their music and gigs and provide podcasts and exclusive mixes from some of the world’s foremost electronica/experimental acts.

 Groove# 3 & Benny Dayal – Baby You Got Me Benny Dayal has recently joined forces with Karsh Kale and a collection of some of India’s finest and most innovative musicians and vocalists to form the Karsh Kale Collectiv and featured on MTV’s Coke Studio sessions. On ‘Baby you got me’, Benny teams up with Groove #3, a three-man jazz band who are labelled as Chennai’s most potent new jazz outfit. This combination lethal combination creates infectious funk that will leave your head bopping and toe tapping. |

Moon Arra – Blue Fuse I have a massive soft spot for when Indian Classical music and Jazz are combined. Be it the John McLaughlin led Mahavishnu orchestra, Shakti or even Indian Ocean. Due to their improvisational nature these two styles marry very well. MoonArra are a Bangalore based band who does just that, blending Hindustani Vocals and scales with a jazzy-blues vibes. Using these two disciplines in their compositions really makes for interesting sounding composition alternating from one to other seamlessly. |

 Rela Excerpt – Talavya Over the last couple of years, I have come to know and love the music of Talavya. Led by Pandit Divyang Vakil, this ensemble has gone from strength to strength dishing out high-spirited performances that reveal the true nature of the Tabla. Rela Excerpt is a meditative composition by Panditji that shifts from soaring heights and back down to a more meditative state bringing to life the emotions of the instrument. |

Sound Avtar – Monster On A Rope As one of the leading dubstep/bass producers in India Sound Avtar has relentlessly brought us tracks that range have influences from British dubstep, American electronica and fusing is very own blend of uniqueness into the mix with his signature production of intense build ups and epic drops.This slamming two track EP ‘Monster On A Rope’ an upfront Electro House number is heavy bass combined with uplifting electronics is filled to the brim with those signature crescendo’s and a strong drops I spoke of earlier – a guaranteed peaktime floorfiller. |

 Tatva Kundalini – Vande Mataram Being a fan of the heartfelt poem by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay‘s, I was naturally drawn to TatvA Kundalini ‘s rendition of Vande Mataram. With punkish almost verging on jazzy vocals provided by Tanya Nambiar combined with soaring guitar riffs, this electronic treat is definitely up there with Vande Mataram tracks by Midival Punditz, Jayant and Bandish Projekt. |

Shubha Mudgal & Business Class Refugees- When I Was Another fantastic album from one of my favourite record labels out there! … What can be classed as brilliance, No Stranger Here intermixes diverse genres and music perspectives from at least three starkly different countries and cultures with deep secular grace, reiterating the timeless search for harmony, universal understanding and love. |

Business Class Refugees – Supreme Chaos From Israel and based in Chennai, India, Patrick Sebay (Kartick) and Yotam Agam (Gotam) are the brains behind the group. Their music utilises violins, duduks, flutes, saxophones, tablas, sarods, bass and drums alongside programming. Supreme Chaos is a devilishly distinctive track, commencing with funk orientated chords soon met with a hook delivered by the Shehnai that glides in and out of the song which really makes this track powerful – definitely my favourite from their Business Class Refugees album. |

Sulk Station – Bindya Bindya is the sixth track on Sulk Station’s debut album ‘Till You Appear’. Compared to the rest of the album, ‘Bindya’ is a lighter more airy affair. The track itself is a simple in nature, which stands out solely because of its superb melody sang by Rao in Hindi. She seems to casting aside, albeit temporarily, her melancholy persona to deliver this beautiful track. Giri fashions this incredible canvas of sounds initially introduced by a tambourine that progressively picks up pace to unfold into this subtle drum ’n’ bass piece without comprising the integrity of the unanticipated vocal agility of Rao. It’s like candy floss for the ears! |
