Radio Flote Launches The IndiEarth Channel
Music lovers across the land – you’ve got a new channel to tune into, for sounds and music you’re not likely to hear in many other places. This July 4th, online radio station Radio Flote will launch the IndiEarth channel – a stream featuring a wide and diverse range of independent underground music, ranging from world music to electronica to indie rock. The aim of the channel is to provide a platform for independent and emerging musicians, while simultaneously exposing listeners to a host of new music and fresh content.
“We’re very excited about the partnership of Radio Flote and IndiEarth. The indie scene is suffering from severe segmentation of audiences across the country. I hope that our partnership with IndiEarth becomes an important step in showing that companies can work together for the overall good of the music scene”, said Mahadevan Kalyanaraman, co-founder of Radio Flote. The channel will feature artists including The Tetseo Sisters from Nagaland, Chennai based indie rockers Skrat, the Qawwali influenced fusion music of Shye Ben Tzur, amongst many others.
“As an organization we’ve always believed in the independents, and try to bring out deserving music that is not getting heard – this collaboration is another step in that direction”, said Sonya Mazumdar of IndiEarth, an initiative of EarthSync.
The channel can be streamed at http://radioflote.com/, and can also be downloaded via the Radio Flote mobile app.
