XChange 2015: Showcase Your Music To The World
Every year, XChange’s Music Festival showcases a meticulously curated bouquet of alternative sounds emerging from India and across the globe. The audiences at XChange comprise artist managers, venue owners, journalists, festival curators and industry professionals from around the world – giving musicians the rare and unique opportunity to present their work to key members of the worldwide music industry.
Many musicians have been programmed at festivals and venues worldwide after their showcases at XChange – notably Teddy Boy Kill, Nucleya, Shaa’ir and Func and The Ganesh Talkies who performed in Reunion Island at the renowned IOMMA and Sakifo Music Festivals; Classical artist Ravi Iyer who played at the Ulsan Jazz Festival in South Korea; veena virtuoso Jayanthi Kumaresh who will showcase her sound at the Hong Kong Arts Festival 2016; and ethno-tronica duo Filter Coffee who conducted performance workshops at the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, and performed at the Wassermusik Festival, Berlin.
XChange 2015 once again opens up its stages to independent musicians with a Call For Artists campaign – musicians are invited to apply for the valuable opportunity to showcase their music. Showcasing at IndiEarth XChange can expand an artist’s professional network, facilitate opportunities for international gig bookings, and provide the opportunity to meet the who’s who of the global independent music and film industry – all under one roof.
“XChange felt refreshingly free of agendas. It’s always nice to be at a genre-blind gathering of, and for, music” says Jivraj Singh aka Jiver of Pink Noise, who has performed at past editions of the festival, “Also Chennai seems to be off the usual touring map – which is a shame because, for me, it is partly home”.
Besides the music and film festivals, XChange also offers workshops and in-depth conversations with top industry professionals that provide industry perspectives essential to the growth of a musician’s professional path.
